Counselling is about change
If Counselling is about change, how do we achieve this?
Knowledge, Understanding and Acceptance!
We can't Accept what we don't Understand and
we can't Understand what we don't Know.
Integrative counselling is about finding what works best for you. Instead of sticking to one method, I draw from different approaches and tailor things to fit your needs, values, and personality. By blending these methods, we focus on helping you make real progress in a way that feels right for you. Here’s what that looks like in practice:
Psychodynamics is all about how our unconscious mind affects the way we act and feel. It looks at how our early experiences shape our thoughts and relationships. In therapy, this approach helps people dig into their inner conflicts and motivations leading to better self-awareness and personal growth.
Person Centred Theory centers on the moment, empowering clients to take charge of their own journey. It facilitates personal growth by encouraging individuals to explore their feelings within a supportive environment, authentic connections and effectively aiding the healing process.
Transactional Analysis (TA) is a great psychological approach that looks at how we interact with each other through three main parts of our personality: Parent, Adult, and Child. Created by Eric Berne back in the late '50s, TA helps us communicate better and grow personally, making it useful in therapy, schools, and workplaces.
Play therapy is an effective approach that benefits individuals across all age groups. For children, it serves as a powerful method for expressing emotions and tackling challenges in a comfortable, engaging way. Teens leverage play therapy to navigate their complex feelings and develop essential coping skills, while adults can use it to address stress and trauma through creative outlets. Ultimately, play therapy is a proven pathway for healing and personal growth for everyone.
Mindfulness is a way to relax and stay in the moment. Just try simple things like deep breathing, body scans, or paying attention to surroundings to feel more grounded. When you make these practices part of your daily routine you'll really notice a boost in your calm and clarity. So, why not give mindfulness a go and see how it can brighten your day?
